Following a catastrophic rain event in early 2023 that resulted in widespread damage and loss of life in Auckland, we were quick to mobilize and offer assistance where possible. Leveraging our expertise and resources, we utilized drones to survey several landslides across Auckland, providing home owners, local councils, and insurance companies with critical information about the extent of the damages. Through the use of ground control points, base stations, and RTK-enabled drones, we were able to generate precise 3D and height maps for surveying purposes. Our goal was to provide a unique perspective on the damages and enable quick and efficient decision-making to expedite the recovery process. By utilizing our drone technology, we hoped to contribute to the restoration of the affected areas and help those impacted by the disaster to rebuild their homes and their lives. This project was a testament to the power of technology and its ability to make a positive impact in times of crisis.
